Ed Ross started Quantime Ltd in 1978, which subsequently grew to become probably the largest supplier of survey software and was sold to SPSS in 1997. He co-founded the OpenSurvey organization, which is seeking to evolve commonly agreed standards for survey software , where he has been particularly involved in projects for XML based file representations He joined the Triple-S committee in 2000.
